RM Recorded failure ... advice pls

Hi,
I posted an item sold on ebay, 2 weeks ago via 1st class recorded.
Although delivered the following day, the buyer promptly emailed me that it had arrived but the postman did not ask for a signature he just handed it over + left.
The buyer could clearly see the parcel was marked up as being recorded to be signed for but no such assurance was met.
Whole reason for paying extra for recorded delivery is the added protection....but this was not honoured by RM
Should RM be liable for failiure to uphold on their additional services??
Thanks Lisa

Claim for the lack of signature from RM.
Read the sticky on postage.

Some areas never get signatures and recorded is not a suitable service for any sort of protection.
As per theonlywayisup, put a claim in to RM for the 95p cost of using recorded and claim that 95p back on the basis of no signature.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Totally agree with the above advice. Some posties are getting very lax due to the pressures they are under, however, if you're not getting the service you pay for then claim it back from them. It must be costing RM a fortune all these posties not doing the job properly4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
