oooh = yes!! Choc and chestnut torte. I'm coeliac too, so use chestnut flour in this, or just regular gluten free flour.

    Hi suzy,

We have a thread with some nice ideas for using up chestnut puree so I've added your thread to it to keep the replies in one place.

I bought 2 cans of this for 10p in Asda a couple of years ago and they have been sitting on the shelf ever since as I haven't had any inspiration on how to use them. Realised last week that various stresses in my life meant I hadn't made a Christmas cake and followed a link on here to a Nigella Lawson last minute recipe that needed 1/2 a can of it :j

But........what shall I do with the rest of it? We don't like chestnut stuffing, do like chestnuts though, but after tasting a bit found it rather bland. Any ideas?
Please be patient with any mis-spellings and typos I am officially useless with a touchscreen keyboard!!!

You can sweeten it with sugar and add vanilla and use it to make chocolate chestnut puddings of various sorts.

You can leave it savory and Use it with onion and bacon to stuff savoy cabbage leaves. My mothers favourite, though I have to admit, it leaves me cold even though I love chestnuts.
