Sales listings for accounts

Hope someone can help.

Been a bit too sucessful for my own good selling items on ebay. Consequently I will have to declare some income on my self assessment forms. Is there anywhere on ebay where i can get a detailed listing of my purchases/sales in the last tax year as I need to seperate out trading items from non trading items.

In myebay there is a link to a sales report but i can only get the last 3 months info from it, ideally i'd like to go back to April 2004.

Cheers guys

i know im not actually helping here but this was something that i wondered about at what point do you have to declare things?? If I just sell some general bits and bobs I dont need to worry about that do I?

I don't think you can get records for more than 4 months in the past from eBay. It's always best to take a copy as each invoice becomes available. I imagine the tax man would be able to get hold of details going further back .

If you don't inform the IR that you are trading within 3 months of starting, you can be fined £100. I expect that the longer you leave it, the harder on you they'll be.

Legally, you should declare your income from eBay as soon as you start trading, i.e. buying stuff with the intend of selling it on, regardless of the amount of profit involved. You'll also need to talk to the NI people too.

Ring your local tax office, that's what I did. You can register over the phone, they'll send you a pack too with loads of info. They offered a short course (half a day I think) for free though I didn't bother because I'd done a book-keeping course a couple of years before I went self-employed.
