Job Interview tomorrow, Advice Needed Please

Hi All
Please could people give me a bit of advice please. I have a job interview tomorrow at 2.40pm for a full time warehouse job.
Do I have wear my full suit. Black jacket, black trousers, light blue shirt and light blue tie or do I not wear the suit jacket due to been to overdressed?
I don't know what to do for the best. I want to make a very good impression but don't want to look over the top. Their are 15 jobs up for grabs, 30 people getting interviewed.

Please could you guys let me know what you think.
Thank you

  • A job doing what?
  • Shirt and tie no jacket. When I went for a warehouse job interview, I was the only one who had dressed up, everyone else was in trackie bottoms & Jeans. I felt really out of place, but I was the only one who walked out with a job.
  • cool thanks alright dave. I will wear a shirt and tie without the jacket. I have a black dress coat that I will wear and take off when I get into the interview. It is very cold up here at the minute so I will wear my coat.
    Thanks for that
  • Hi misssarah1972. It is a warehouse job doing manual work

Better to be over dressed than under dressed.
  • Wear the jacket !!!!!

  • The shirt and the tie will do for the job interview. Well if it is really cold wear the jacket and just remove it before the interview. Wearing the right clothes for the interview is a plus factor to land on the job.

Make the impression, shirt and tie with trousers is perfectly fine. Jacket may be overkill. You sound like you have the right idea though tbh, and it's always good to ask opinion.

As someone who is involved with some HR, I'd rather see someone make the effort when they come for interview, than someone who doesn't. If they can't be bothered to make the effort to get the job, will they make the effort when they are in the job? ;) There is some truth in the first 30 seconds is the time when an employer makes a judgement of an applicant. First impressions certainly don't get jobs, but they certainly place you into the maybe or no way box.

Most importantly though, I'd like to wish you the best of luck. Try not to be nervous, I know it's easy to say, but if you don't get this one it's really not the end of the world, so just be yourself and try not to think negative, just be positive and go for it!!

I would wear your jacket & shirt but without a tie.
