I've been Money Tipped!
Hi

I just wondered if the clever people that visit this board could tell me what I should have paid for 06/07 I have 2 small jobs. If I understand correctly I need to send both p60's along with a letter asking for overpayment to be given back along with a P87 for business miles/

Job 1 started sept 06. Tax code given has changed so often, but the one for year end was 598T still not sure how that has been arrived at? Gross pay for year £4514.34. I have not had any tax deducted on this job but paid £196.98 NI.

Job 2 Gross for year £1980.53 tax paid £179.96 and no NI

For job 1 i have just filled out a P87 for business mileage. 294 miles @40p so £117.60 entered in box 8 as employer has not reimbursed any costs for this.

Many thanks in advance for advise

    Total Gross £6494
    less expenses £118
    Total net gross £6376

    Less personal allowance £5035

    Taxable pay £1341

    Tax due @10% only = £134.10

You paid £179.96 and are due a repayment of £45.86.

I would definately check out your current tax code to make sure everything is correct.
