preserved lemons last for ages so don't worry about using them up right away, as does cocoa powder.

plastic cheese slices are fairly indestructible, the only thing I would be bothered about is the apple sauce. just eat it as a pud if you can't be bothered to cook owt

use the taco spice mix to make fajitas

the preserved lemons would probably be too strong to stuff in a chicken as they're used more as a seasoning than a major ingredient

    enjoy!

  • Microwave sponge for the apple sauce, put apple sauce in microwaveable bowl, make up a sponge mix maybe add cinnamon/mixed spice, few sultanas, pour on to apple sauce and zap in the microwave till done.

Lemons, blitz up add stock, seasoning, sugar if to tart and cornflour to make lemon sauce to go with chicken Chinese style.

Taco seasoning can also be used for chilli con carne.

if you are baking or grilling pork chops, then a good heaped tablespoon of apple sauce spread on chop once cooked, then topped with a slice of 'plastic' cheese and grilled until golden and bubbling really tastes pretty good! My OH actually requests this for a supper dish!

You can make apple sauce cake, which makes a lovely (slightly) lower cal cake as it gets alot of the sweetness from the apple sauce so uses less sugar. Seen a fair few recipes on the web. Or bung it in with some dried fruit and say oats or nuts into a muffin mix and you have brekkie muffins-these can be frozen and eaten as and when.

I guess that the Taco mix is just a mixture of dried spices. If you do potato wedges you can add a little oil and the spices and mix together in a bowl - that way you don't use too much oil and it gives a better coating. Nice spicy wedges - you can use as much or little as you want.

Packets of "wedge seasoning" are quite expensive so I just use a big pot of mixed seasoning - like a BBQ mix.

I do a quick apple crumble using up apple sauce and a diced up eating apple. Simple, quick pud :)
I also like apple sauce in porridge for brekkie, and I sometimes add a bit to a curry. (Don't often have left over apple sauce in this house!)
I don't like cheese slices, but if not used on burgers, OH uses them for quick cheese toastie - toast bread in toaster, when done, slap a cheese slice in the middle (and in his case add brown sauce or pickle)
  • Melt the cheese slices over chips. You could also grate them or use them whole in cheese toasties. :)

Bramley apple sauce - you could try this recipe.

Or mix it with blackberries and make either a apple/blackcurrant mix, or make crumble to go with it?

Cocoa - this. I love it.

Taco's - did a little Googling and found this, dont know if any of this takes your fancy?

  • Cocoa - about 1/2 tsp max in a chilli adds a lovely depth to the flavour.
    Put the kettle on. ;)
  • apple sauce - why not add it to porridge.

If I'm making a pork casserole I add some to that.

or if using port chops/steaks place them in an oven proof dish, top the pork with the apple sauce, cover dish with foil and cook in oven. Keeps the pork really moist

I always put a slice of 'real' lemon in dall and salt. You could try preserved lemon and no salt?
How about a bit in salsa?
