I enter my mobile number and as others have said, been careful with the tick boxes. Aside from Bauer magazines offering me 3 issues of Whatever Monthly for £1 every so often (I say I'm only in for the competitions and they apologise and leave me alone for a few months, all polite and things), the only issues I had was People's Postcode Lottery, who took me off their list when I requested them, and Club M Coventry who used to text me but after tweeting them, that's cleared up too.
I get no sales calls but have had a couple WTC's which is always nice

I would use a Call Blocker SMS blocker on your phone if you have a Smartphone which so many people seem to love.
A Talk and Texter is also a good idea.
I believe in having a 'B' Phone for Crap people from Competition Entries to dreaded DWP and keep 'em of your 'A' Line reserved for people of sheer qaulity.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.
