Package delivered item missing

Hi

I just need some advice please. I sent an item to France a6 days ago and I have just had an email saying that the item had been delivered but the packet was torn and the item was missing. I just need to know if I need to claim and if so how or does the buyer need to claim?

Any help would be great.

Thank You

The easy answer is that you need to refund your buyer in full and claim from RM.

However, this is not going to be a straight forward claim as I suspect you will need to claim for total loss, even though the packet arrived, and that feels wrong. However a claim for damage doesn't seem quite appropriate either.

I can imagine that claiming for loss in post would be reasonable in this situation. I'm sure RM understand this sort of thing and are prepared for it. I would start by making enquiries of the RM website as to how to claim.
