I would agree with Edwardia that Duchy milk is much tastier than Lidl organic one:j Abel & Cole and Riverford milk are great too, it taste delicious, with full milk flavor, not watery like Lidl and supermarket own organic milk!
I used Riverfod organic milk( because t is not homogenised) to make dry cottage cheese. It taste much better than shop bought
and isn't so hard to make.
By the way bought 400 g organic Vine tomatoes in Sainsbury's, they were priced 1.50 £ instead of 1,80£
    Tasty:j
About bread, my hubby bought me Panasonic bread maker(I begged him for ages:eek:
It is so easy to use, all time perfect bread with no addictive it tastes, much better than Greggs one :j
Shop bought bread, even organic, after this bread tastes like rubish:rotfl:

Thank you. Duchy is what I already buy as I have 2 Waitroses fairly close to me. I use a fair bit of milk (semi-skimmed) as I make my own kefir.

I don't eat much bread so I'll pass on the machine.

There's a Morrisons near me, and it's ok for organic poatoes, carrots, broccoli and apples. The rest I buy in Waitrose or dedicated organic shops.

I low carb so don't eat bread. OH does eat carbs but is mostly organic. He prefers rolls to bread unless it's a baguette so a bread machine wouldn't work for us.

Waitrose sells organic baguettes for 99p, Tesco for 90p,The Waitrose ones all have stickers showing they are certified by the Soil Association. Ocado doesn't sell organic baguettes and I've never seen them in Sainsbury's or ASDA. Sainsbury's has 4 organic wholemeal rolls for £1.

Quasar, I found so little organic food in Lidl, ASDA and Morrisons it was a pain. Tesco and Waitrose are both a bus ride away and though Sainsbury's has some organic meat (Lidl, Morrisons and ASDA have none) it doesn't have much organic veg.

From March-August it was a struggle to find enough food. Even my local Waitrose doesn't have a huge amount of organic food and I found Tesco organic meat was pretty tough. I switched to Ocado and Abel & Cole.

For me, ordering online takes the stress out of shopping. I couldn't carry it all home by myself and my husband wants to do more with his weekend than go shopping so it suits us. :)

Morrisons do a very few organic items of produce, usually the same. They're ok, but as you say Edwardia, the choice is limited. I wish they did organic kale as it's my favourite green, but for that I have to rely on Waitrose or the Wholefood shop.

I keep getting big bags of kale in veg boxes Quasar and I never know what to do with it. I got sprout tops yesterday as well. I'm thinking of making vegetable soup.

Hotel Chocolat still in the lead for most expensive organic chocolate bar, with the Purist 100% cocoa Ecuadorian at £6 but only £1 less in second place at the moment is Fortnum and Mason No8 organic white chocolate £5 https://www.fortnumandmason.com

I cook the kale properly instead of just blanching it (having chopped it fairly fine), then let it cool and freeze in individual portions. I find it's very versatile and I can eat it as a side veg or add it to stews, soups etc. It's one of the most nutritious vegs around.

^ Totally agree, I don't really like shop bought bread at all now (apart from when I can get a sourdough as I haven't mastered that..). I only ever use my bread machine for making the dough though - I always shape and cook in the oven.

I use either Marriage's strong org flour (from Ocado) or if I'm not ordering I buy Waitrose org flour, sometimes white or sometimes mix with malted.

Shop bought bread non org is shocking, let alone the additives I find it too salty.

It's nice just shredded and stir fried. Nigel Slater did a ham? and shredded greens fried in garlic and oil sandwich last week, looked lovely (minus the ham!).

If you don't end up eating it all, put it out for the pigeons, they LOVE sprout tops and kale...

I used to find organic Cauldron Tofu in Morrisons, Asda and somewhere else, but they don't do it anymore. Their tofu has no organic status so I no longer buy it from them . Shame because it used to be a decent price.

I would love to make my own kefir! How do you do it?:)
So far I never found kefir in supermarkets. Only in Polish or Easter European shops and I don't like this kefir!
About bread making, We don't eat much bread too, one loaf (500g flour) last us for 5 days.We use it mostly for hubby's luchbox he is glad that he invested in breadmaker
I usually use Waitrose Canadian strong bread flour, to be honest didn't try organic flour:o maybe I should do it in a future.
