Is it ok to use Ccleaner in default normal delete mode to clean history temp files etc on a SSD

It'll shorten the life of the drive as it is doing unnecessary writes and it is the number of writes which is critical with SSDs.0 -
Does Samsung SSD Magician do the same job ?I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.0

Why would it being an SSD cause issues? The write limit of SSD is managed by the controller which ensures the writes are distributed evenly across the SSD partition to avoid hitting the write limit on a block substantially ahead of another.0

So will defrag, dll pre-fetch cache, hiberfil.sys hibernation and pagefiles..
Far more so than a CClean of TIF's.
The controller will ensure that its not the same sectors of the partition being written/erased, thats where SSD controllers differ from standard IDE/SATA physical drive controllers.0 -

Seems ok so far on a 2 year old drive with only 27GB used on a Win7 Ultimate install.604!0 -

From what I can tell it's more of an OS SSD tweaker (i.e. regkey edits etc to ensure TRIM is enabled, defrag and hibernation disabled inter alia), along with manual force TRIM (not needed if controller fw supports auto TRIM) plus a few other goodies like imaging and fw update utility. It won't actually delete files like CCleaner does.
It's similar to the very good SSDTweaker, although most of the tweaks can also be done manually through the command prompt and regedit.
There are lots of guides such as this on how to manually optimize your SSD.604!0 -
Do you have system restore turned on or off ?
Space is not a problem on my SSD I was just wondering if SR would cause extra wear and tear.I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.0
