the dry cleaner lost my shirts, now what?

My dry cleaner in London lost 3 shirts bought 2 months ago (total price £240). They were obviously like new.
I've been waiting 3 weeks to give him time to manage the problem with his sub-contractor and I went to the shop yesterday. Unfortunately he became suddenly aggressive (verbally) , told me I have no proof of the quality of shirts and will not refund me anything.
I have the receipt from the shirt market showing the exact size/color/price/date of purchase, the receipt from my dry cleaner where it is specified that 3 shirts are missing.
I want a refund, what should I do next?
thanks

Have you put your complaint in writing and included a copy of the receipt for the shirts in said email/letter?You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0

I wrote to adviceguide.org.uk, no answer yet and there is no way to attach a copy of the receipts by email.
I didn't write to the dry cleaner, I guess that will be useless given that he asked me to leave the shop when I offered to negotiate a compensation and told me he will not refund anything.
who should I write to?0 -

Write to the cleaner, enclosing a copy of the dry cleaning receipt, along with the receipt for the shirts you bought. Give them 7 days from receipt of letter to either return your shirts, or send you a cheque for £240 to cover the cost of the lost items. Entitle the letter "Letter Before Action". Tell them that if they don't either return the shirts or send you £240 within the 7 days, it will leave you with no other option than to take them to court.
Send two copies of the letter to them, posting each one from a different post office, obtaining proof of postage.
If you have no shirts or no money in 7 days, start the court procedure (small claims court)Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
