IMO, ebay were totally correct in changing your account so that you were a business seller.my husband owns a bar and he got lots of alcohol related freebies which he gave me to sell on eBay,
Even though the item you were selling weren't purchased by you, they were still obtained by a business (the bar), and were being sold at a profit.0 -
No - the alcohol was being bought to sell at a profit, the badges, lanyards etc were 'free gifts' and were ours to do with what we liked, however I understood eBays reasons and didn't even quibble it, I just opened an account to sell my personal stuff on again like our clothing, unwanted items and heirlooms.0

So I am guessing at the time of selling the lights, you were not a business seller... but now you are. And this is why the buyer thinks they can invoke DSR?
Did you sell it as a Buy it now or as an auction? This makes a difference too.
Although, to be fair it's moot since you made all reasonable attempts to solve the issue and as the buyer hasn't pursued it up until now I think will have no case anyway. Same advice really; ignore unless you get proper official court/solicitor's letters."So long and thanks for all the fish" :hello:0 -
No - I have one business account and one private account - she bought the items off my private account as a buy it now price, though I belive I gave her a discount for buying more than one if I can remember rightly.
If she files a case with the Magistrates Courts but she has no grounds for returning the goods with either DSR's or becuase she is out of time in getting back to me, do they dismiss it, or do they try every case that they get ?0
