Setting Google to show UK sites.

Lately when I Google something it directs me to mostly US sites, not UK, how can I get it bake to show UK sites first?

That will certainly improve things but it still shows US sites.

It used to be that you could specify UK sites in your settings but that seems to have disappeared. These days even using google.co.uk once you've done a search there is now a link on the left for "Pages from the UK"

If I was a cynic I'd think the Americans had decided that despite being thousands of miles away across the Atlantic that we still wanted to see US sites near the top of our search rather than those close to home!

You could always add '-USA' to your search criteria.

The OP's question was specifically about Google. Yahoo may have a UK option that works better than Google but it does not answer the question.
