Hi forum,

Im looking for a New fridge Freezer we purchased:o an AEG Santo which worked well initially yet developed frost in the Fridge area at the back of the Salad drawer after a few months and continued until just after 2 years the complete fridge freezer has broken down. I was told that there was a gas leak and this slowly led to the appliance;s demise.:(

I have been told that we should purchase a fridge/freezer that is COOLED by the Freezer.

Anyone got any ideas we have £1100 to spend.

I have a Hotpoint FF187 which I am fairly sure cools the fridge from the freezer. Never given me a single problem (touch wood) and I'd buy another if this one dared to break.

I've got a full height Miele fridge and separate matching freezer.
They're very well designed, built like tanks and perform very well but so they should for the price of them.

we have had nothing but trouble with our AEG Santo which was delivered incomplete and after 15 months of being the meat in the sandwich between AEG and the retailer, we still have an incomplete expensive AEG freezer in our kitchen but not working, and no money to replace it!

So anything by any other manufacturer is probably a good idea
