Bedroom Radiator Makes a Strange Noise...

Can someone please help?
We moved into a rental in April, and have just started using the CH. All is fine except the radiator in our bedroom makes a wierd noise when its on. Its like a whoooooooooooSSSSSSSH pop! kinda noise. It happens repeatedly for maybe 3-5 minutes, then stops for maybe 5 minutes, and starts again?! It's not excessively loud, but loud enough that It will wake me at 5.30am and its irritating!! I've bled all the radiators last month, but I don't really know what it is?!
Any ideas?!

some of the older trv's were one way only valves (it should have an arrow on the chrome body) now while it would work if the water was flowing through it the wrong way when it started to shut it would "chatter" but of course installers never used to check & just put them on either end, most of the modern ones can be fitted either way, have a look at the valve to see if it only has an arrow pointing one way, turn off the trv & let the rad cool for a while, turn it back on & see which pipe gets hot first this will be the flow into the rad & the arrow should point the same way, eg if it's pointing up then this pipe should get hot first if it's pointing down then the other pipe should get hot first, if it's not the right way round this can cause your problem, even if it's round the right way or can be fitted either way trv's don't close instantly it's like a slow turn of a tap & as they close the noise will increase until they shut off, as you are getting a pop it sounds like the water is going through it the wrong way & at the last min the pressure is forcing the valve to close giving you that final pop as it forces it down.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

As above. You may also have some air in the system.
