I'm from Liverpool as is my husband. I say "me mum" but hubby always called his mum "Mam" and still talks about her now as "me mam". It's an old fashioned term here though, he's one of the youngest in a very large family so I wouldn't expect other people our age from round here to say that!!

my husband from north wales says me mam too

Scrolling through the forum, seeing the name of a prize, thinking "That sounds like a nice thing to have!"...then opening the thread and seeing it's a product for babies/cats/horses! :D

Or nice prize, then see it's on GransNet or NetMums - groups I don't belong to as not a gran or a mummy.... :rotfl:

    My pet hate:

"I've sent a PM to Glad"

Wish I had a pound for everytime I read that.

Also any comps where you can post comments even though it has nothing to do with winning the competition:

"Amazing competition, thanks, I would love this so much as i'm in hard times now... etc etc"

I dont care! I'm also hoping that sites wouldnt believe your rubbish stories and let you win!
    Started comping: September 2013
Wins so far: Cunard QM2 Cruise, X Factor final tickets, £1,000 Team build day, Dinner at the Ritz with Rolls Royce limo

These are usually necessary, e.g. when someone requests a merge, and don't have their PM facility switched on, so someone else has to request it.

I think it's actually pretty important people notify the rest of the forum that a merge has been requested... :o

Agreed otherwise the next post is "have you requested a merge?"

I was getting wound up by the increasing number of people with their pm switched off posting this is a duplicate somebody request a merge. Especially since it is possible to just send messages to the BGs. Then it occurred to me the actual merge isn't the important bit, as long as they post a link to the other thread so people can check they aren't duplicating competition entries, does it really matter if the threads are merged?

My therapist will be proud of me; now to get over the whole countdown to advent thing....

Don't countdown, countaway - it's now been over 150 days sinced advents finished, 151 days etc by the time you get to 300 days since they finished you will be champing at the bit for them to start again (or not).

    This always amuses me..

"I hope you don't mind me copy and pasting a whole load of info I gained from clicking on the link to the comp you provided in the OP"

Anyone can click a link, read about the comp and enter it, so why bother with C/P?
