Esa

Hi everyone i need some information if possible.
My husband is in the process of being transferred from ib to esa he had the forms at the begining of august filled them in and sent them back on the 23rd of august its been 7 weeks now and we still have'nt heard anything back from them .
My question is how long does it usually take bedfore you hear anything, i thought we might have heard something about a medical by now .
Thanks .

    It varies.
Not everyone gets a medical, some are just moved over.
Probably wise to ring up and check no decision has been made as yet, and the letter gone astray.
  • Thanks for your reply roger ,who do i ring the dwp ? .

    Your lucky.

I sent back my WCA form on the 20th September, and 2 weeks later I've got a dreaded medical on the 26th October!!

Yes, ring the number on any letter you have from ESA.

It took 5 months after I submitted my ESA50 until I went for my 'medical', I have heard of other people for whom it has taken only a few days.

I'd advise as per roger.. contact DWP and see if decision has been made. If yes then ask for that decision obviously but also a copy of the ESA85A ATOS report (ATOS advice to DWP where no medical conducted). If no decision made ask if they have received anything from ATOS and ask for ESA85A if they have. If no decision and nothing from ATOS I'd advise contacting ATOS via email (free and they seem efficient at responding - customer-relations@atoshealthcare.com) giving personal details including NiNo and they should be able to give you status of the referral to them... ask if they've received ESA50 sent on date x and what is happening now. If you email them for updates every so often until either they either close file or arrange a face to face medical then you can time when to ask DWP for the ESA85A or following medical the ESA85 ATOS medical report. The advice from ATOS is usually as good as rubber stamped but it can take many weeks... delays right across the ESA system can be notable.
