My daughter is having an interview next week with an agency about getting a bus pass for merseytravel under the learning disability criteria, despite a supporting letter from her adhd specialist, Has anyone had to take their child to one of these and what on earth is it for when a qualified specialist tells them what they need to know, any help appreciated, my daughter by the way is very nervous as she hates situations like this,

Merseytravel assessors usually want to see the person face to face before issuing bus passes.
I only had to do it once, but still have to fill the forms out every 2-3 years.just passing through.... Nothing to see....0 -
My son has Down's syndrome, various medical conditions, is deaf in one ear and hard of hearing in the other, and is a wheelchair user, but he still had to have a medical with Merseytravel. I had to take a list of his medications, and they asked what school he attends. That was it. He was awarded his bus pass for life, although it has to be renewed every three years. I wouldn't call it a medical or an assessment, just a two minute face to face meeting.0

Thank you for your replies, its a company called local solutions, it isnt a medical as such, seems such a waste of time, but i suppose it will be worth it,0

In Merseyside, you have to go through Merseytravel, not the local council. As well as allowing bus travel, the pass entitles the holder to use trains and ferries within the Merseyside area, and some train destinations just outside the area as well (for example, Chester)0

Before they closed Hatton Garden, it was done by someone employed by Merseytravel, but as Mann Island has no public access, it sounds like they've tendered it out instead.just passing through.... Nothing to see....0 -
Local Solutions run the local Shopmobility service, so they know what they're doing when it comes to disabilityjust passing through.... Nothing to see....0
