Dont know if its the same thing but.... I have an Olympus C50z that can not cope with xd cards that have an 'H' or an 'M' which seems to be the majority of new cards.

The C50z can be made to work with the modern cards via a firmware update (free from Olympus) . maybe yours is the same too?

    Try emailling Olympus on :

    Hope this helps.

    Have a go at this.

When you have a xd card that is write protected left click on the card icon to get to its first subfolder... right click on this and you will notice it is has the "read only" radio button selected. Unselect it and click apply. It will ask if you want to apply this to all sub folders and files select yes.

I also looked at pictures of the card and cant see it but on most memory cards there is a little switch like this
    SDcard%201%20go%20(300%20dpi).jpg

If yours has one make sure it isn't on.

okay aswell. Put in the card. In My computer you should see 'removable disk' right click on that and do the same..

    I have a finepix A340

Insert the card into the camera and using the camera menu, turn off the write protect.

In mine, with the front closed.

    press the rear 'On' button,
    Menu,
    scroll across to the 'Key',
    scroll up to 'reset all'
    press 'ok'

Also use the camera to reformat the card..it is more reliable than using a pc.
