Wow £900 is a big bill.
I bought a energy tester (belkin) and found that a freezer that I had inherited, when I bought the house was costing a fortune. It might be worth finding out what is using what as well as some of the good ideas posted.
The testing unit showed some interesting energy costs and i ended up investing in standby savers, LED lights etc to get my bill down..
My monthly bill now is around £300
