  • Good morning everyone :)

Good wishes to all sick people and pets, hugs to anyone who is sad or fed up or just needs a hug.

Freezing cold here today but the sun is still shining. I love crisp, cold, Autumnal days, I just wish I could go for a walk instead of working. I suspect by the time I can at the weekend, the good weather will be over.

Freezer and stock cupboard have been raided for last night and next few day's dinners. Last night and today's lunch was home made minestrone. Tonight's is salmon and noodles. Am hoping to get to a farm shop at the weekend to buy a sack of tiny onions for pickling, I already have all the spices and the vinegar.

Have just spotted a thread on sofa cushions and it has inspired me to look at reviving our very old and tatty sofa. I need something to cover the cushions and one of those things that goes under the cushions to firm it up a bit. Hmm does anyone know what that is called?

Have a super day everyone :)

    Morning all

Thanks for the support and hugs. I feel a lot better this morning. Maybe it's the sunshine.:T
I managed to plant the snowdrops, crocus and iris this morning. Then I had had enough, so the daffs and narcissuss will have to wait!:rotfl:

Having a coffee now, and watching telly.
DD has gone to a meeting at Dad's home with the PCT. He is being re-assessed at my request. I think that Dad's care home fees should be paid by them and not him, so fingers' crossed that we get the result we want.

Not sure what to have for dinner tonight.
RR well done to your DD
Bitsy spicy sausage pasta , maybe I'll do the same!
Miffy hope your review goes well
nmlc well done on the tickets, we are going to see Anton & Erin at Eastbourne next year.
    Lou hope you're ok
Rosy did you find your purse after all?

    Morning all
    Gosh, it's cold today!

Nmlc very best wishes for your sister- I hope the op goes according to plan and that she recovers well.

Molly (((HUG))) sorry you've had such a bad night - try and rest today, sweetie. Give those woofers a cuddle for Auntie Wolfy.;)

Talking of woofers - I've managed to pretty much wear Bailey and Cassie out; I bundled up in winter gear, took a seat out onto the patio, and threw their tennis balls for them across the back garden, for a good half-hour. They're both flat out on the floor now!:D Cassie just drops the ball and expects me to come and get it from her, but Bailey is very good about bringing it back to me.:D

I had a GP appointment at sparrow-fart this morning - 07:00. *yawn* but that's my six-monthly meds review out of the way. The GP is also going to chase up why I haven't had an appointment to see the rheumy this year, and also see about organising a scan for my shoulder.

At some point I need to give the bathroom it's weekly deep-clean:eek:; I also have to do toad-in-the-hole for dins (doing easy meals while I have two large, inquisitive woofers in residence) and I've promised Mr LW I'd turn the remaining cream into a chocolate mousse.;)

Cassie has now woken up and is looking for a fuss; I may combine this with a wee session with the grooming tool.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Hi everyone.

I'm going to have to look out some of my winter clothes as it's a bit chilly here today. I hate the time when I have to get dressed up just to stay in the house. I hate feeling cluttered up with socks, jumpers, cardis etc. Think I'll try to do it gradually, it might not feel so bad. Would be nicer if all my clothes weren't so tight on me - ah well, I know the answer to that problem. Unfortunately.

Had a good clean up downstairs this a.m. as we have a meeting here tonight. Everything looks clean and shiny. Good job they won't be looking in any cupboards! I've made chocolate Brownies for them to have with their coffee - and I've only tested a tiny corner of one, honestly. I wish I couldn't cook, it would be a lot easier not to eat.

nmlc: These people are just toxic aren't they? Some people never grow up, I spent a lifetime sorting out these sorts of disagreements in the school playground and it still goes on into adult life. I come to the conclusion that they don't have enough to occupy their minds and stir up trouble just for a bit of excitement. Don't play their game.

Everything crossed for Lou and I hope with all my being that all goes well for her.

Picked some of the last roses in the garden this morning, they are being cruelly tortured by the wind and rain. The scent of them is filling the house, a fragrant farewell to summer I suppose.

    Love you all

  • Afternoon all

Got another load of washing dried on the line and had to nip down to the bank to pay a bill, then market for a few bits and popped into poundland, they didn't seem to have a lot in so I only spent a couple of pounds.
There were some darling miniature shetland ponies in the quadrant they were there helping to raise money for a charity that helps disabled children and I think that they raised quite a bit, because everyone was putting money into their buckets. I went and bought them a bag of carrots as well.

Dinner is out of the way, we had spag bol and garlic bread.

nmlc I hope that sis got her op and is ok x

My computer is playing up speaker wise so I will have to have a look at that in a little while or I can't watch a few bits on catch up.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

    Morning all

    RR - congrats to DD!
Nmlc - hope DSis is ok x
    LW - drs at 7am  ??
Bitsy - hope you enjoyed Harvest festival :rotfl:

I had an all day meeting today, yawn! It was the annual meeting for people who host student social workers. It was better than previous years, more interactive. And they always have a good buffet :D. Also got to finish early, which was nice.

Very little OS here today, just debating what to do for tea. Currently thinking pasta bake or egg and chips. But both require cooking so may just grab something HM from freezer instead.

    Have a good evening all

  • Hello all I wondered if I can join you :) My partner is being made redundant in two weeks so I need to tighten the belt up a little bit. Like a lot of people probably I know how to be frugal but didn't bother too much in the good times. So I need a little bit of moral support now as I reign things in again...
