USB 3.0 Expansion Card

Hi everybody,
I recently bought a USB 3.0 (4-port) expansion card and put it into an empty PCI-E slot in my Asus P7H55-M mobod.
I then bought a USB 3.0 pen drive and it is working fine. The problem is that the card will not accept any of my USB 2.0 pen drives although it is supposed to be backward compatible with USB 1.1 and USB 2.0. It will however accept devices like the keyboard and mouse.
So it would seem that it is accepting USB 3.0 and USB 1.1 devices but not USB 2.0 devices.
I have checked in Device Manager and all USB devices are working fine. No problems indicated at all. I downloaded the latest USB 3.0 driver from the Asus suport site.
I would be grateful for any ideas as it is a complete mystery to me. I only have one USB 3.0 device so the other three ports are basically redundant if I cannot get them to accept my USB 2.0 pen drives.
Thanks for reading.

I had intermittent problems (BSODs, disconnections, etc) with a USB 3.0 PCI card, and eventually had to send it back. Your problem is a bit more fundamental. USB 3.0 still appears to be flakey...0

Have a look on the manufacturer's website - there may be updated drivers for the card. If not, try emailing them with details of your problem.0

Thanks for replies.
I am going to see if I can identify the manufacturer and look for a different driver.0
