Why release the £10 off train travel during the working day?

2 release times for these codes is great, but not everybody is at home all day, nor has unlimited internet access during their working day.
Missing out again as I can't participate...again.
Please can you relook at any future offers like this so everyone really does get a fair crack of the whip? Those of us who work 9-5 too would like a shot.

Rather than releasing these at certain times, why not set up a dedicated email account or link for say 24 or 48 hours, allow those who want one to apply, and then advise the 30,000 eventual lucky winners.
You could also use this time to check the applications and knock out those who make multiple applications ... as I'm sure many will.0 -
Hi there,
We've given a lot of thought to deals like this, and how we work with the providers to release them in the best way for MoneySavers. Most offers we do are open-ended - we only stick to specific times on mega popular ones where we want everyone to have received the weekly email first, therefore theoretically having an equal chance of grabbing it.
Unfortunately for some, the busiest times of day - traffic-wise - are between 10 and 4ish, so for most people to benefit we tend to schedule between these times for offers we know are going to be short-lived.
Obviously that will leave others disappointed if you aren't able to get online at the right times.

Pardon me, but the release times (11 and 3) are definitely in the busiest time that you indicated.0 -

Yep, that's the idea. The busiest time of day is by definition the time when the most amount of people are usually able to be by a computer and on the site, so we released the codes when as many people as possible were likely to have a chance to get them.Former MSE team member0 -
Sadly being at home all day did not guarantee me a voucher. The first time, I was on the site at 11 am and the prompt for email address and security code failed to come up until 11.15am, by which point they had all gone.
I tried again at 3pm, and the same thing happened by 3.05pm
I fail to see what else I could have done to maximise my chances. Maybe there is something I do not know which others do ?0 -

Then dont use phrases in the email like giving everyone a fair crack at the whip, as you aren't!
Traffic is busy at those times as non workers/office workers are online at those times - there would be a massive spike (maybe even larger than the 11-3 peak) if all of us who can't be online during the working day knew we may be able to access a code at 6pm.
Having 2 release times - both within the average working day - is really a hard pill to swallow when you say you are trying to be fair. It isn't. We're all still at work at 11am and we're all still there at 3pm.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I put in my email address and the relevant words displayed - no code.
Tried again - no code.
And again, and again, and again.
Lost count of the number of times but at 3.03pm a message displayed saying all the codes had gone!!!
This is the first time I've tried anything like this on here and it will probably be the last!0 -

You aren't explaining why you actually want it to be at a busy time.
Unless you are trying to set some records for thje number of people on a web page, which your comments on the other thread set me to wondering.
Some people will be at work and can't come to MSE, and others will surreptiously have wasted up to half an hour of their eimployer's time. Some people work shifts and might have slept through the 11 am one.
Why not release 5000 each at half a dozen times during the day, including during the evening and maybe even a bit after midnight?0 -

Sorry I must not have been clear, as setting records is not our aim - if it was then we would release all the codes bang on 1pm.
More people are naturally around at those times, so that is when the largest number of people find it easy to get to a computer, on an average day. The rise of mobile web surfing has increased the ease for many others to get on.
We know not everyone is going to be happy, but this was a freebie and there can only be so many of them.
