electoral Roll Search, is it correct/immediate

Hi Guys

Looking at getting a Luma card for my partner, one of the points to note before applying is 'You're on the electoral roll'

She will be on the 15th October 2012, so if we applied on the 16th would the check be correct, or is there some time it takes to get to the CC company, I do understand you should be able to appeal against a refusal if they told us that we failed on that.

TIA

Andy

  • you can use 192.com for a fee to check the current electoral roll, or if you have credit expert account that shows electoral roll entries, but i am not sure how quickly they appear, if not on the roll in my exp you will get a knock back even if there is any error in the number such as an a or something if in flats, so its best to be sure before you apply imho

  • Well I wont know until the 15th I guess as that is when we will be put on it, we got a letter back in June stating that we will be added on that date as the Roll Closed.

Maybe do a phone application and mention the letter ?

I wouldn't apply for anything before CRAs have her showing as on the register (current address). Some more info on this thread.

  • Thanks for that, the reason for asking which will complicate measures in some way is that we have to move from this address in 11 days, whether we do or not is another issue.

I guess if the Dec 1st Date is correct, then mayeb we should add ourselves to the new E/Roll in good time at the new address.

Thanks for confirming what I expected. Its appreciated.

or if you have credit expert account that shows electoral roll entries, but i am not sure how quickly they appear

Just as a small warning, Credit Expert have never showed me as being on the electoral roll. When I first looked at my report, I went immediately to the electoral roll office in town and double checked that I was in fact registered. They have contacted Credit Expert on my behalf on numerous occasions and still, it shows me as not being on the roll. I did flash up as being on the roll for a couple of months but at my parents address (Mums fault, just blindly filling out the form and forgetting I had moved out years ago). I am on the other two and luckily everything I have ever applied for has been approved so it hasn't caused me too much hassle but when I look at Check My File, it just matches me with Vanquis, Capital One and Aqua cards.

I moved (some years ago) in January and filled in the registration form within a week. CRA shows my ER date as 28th October of that year.
