Food Taste Change - Robinsons Fruit & Barley Summer Fruits

Hi
I am a lover of Robinsons 'Fruit & Barley' Summer Fruits and have been drinking it every single day for around 4+ years, if not more.
A week ago I went food shopping at Tesco and purchased a few bottles as was running very low. When I next had a summer fruits drink I found out the taste had changed.
So I went to another store thinking it's possibly a bad batch and purchased one bottle (I have 5 now!) which had the same taste. So recipe change I guessed...
So I contacted Britvic who actually gave confirmation that they have changed the recipe. In turn I requested a refund for my purchased bottles as the taste had changed with no warning. If the label had 'New Flavour' I would of purchased one bottle instead of my usual 4 (+1 extra) and wouldn't be in this situation.
So I contacted CAB and asked what I can do... They stated if the ingredients were different then I could do nothing. I checked labels for old and new bottle when I got home and the ingredients are exactly the same.
So my questions...
Who is responsible? Tesco said contact Robinsons (Britvic)
Can I take this further?
Who do I contact next?
I am seriously starting to get !!!!ed off!

I'm pretty sure that Tesco allow returns of non perishable food items within 28 days of purchase.
Just take the unopened bottles back and get a refund or exchange them for something else.0 -
I don't there is much you can do. Take them back to Tesco and see if they will give you a refund. If they don't then there is not much you can do.Come on you Irons0

Yeah will return unopened bottles to shop and pass the others to someone who likes it.
I will then avoid buying Britvic products for about 24-48 hours forget the whole thing and move along. Company wins again.
It's not even about the money here its about the principal. Thanks for replying.0 -
It's a favourite in our house too and although I've not noticed a taste difference, I have seen a dark residue swilling about in the glass. Means I don't like drinking to the bottom of the glass.0

Have they started using aspartame or something like that?0

Yeah good wind up post :rotfl::T
Why would this be a wind up post?
On another note I drink Summer Fruits normal Robinsons. Whats the difference between the barley ones (assuming added barley) I have bought it before when there dont have the normal one I drink and found it to taste horrendous anyway. Also find I have to put more in to get it to the strength I like0 -
I also am a huge fan of Robinsons Fruit and Barley and i noticed the change straight away. I looked into it and found that on the bottle, the new 'improved' recipe that actually tastes like !!!! has a 'NO ADDED SUGAR' printed about 2 cms height at the bottom of the label thing. Whereas on the old, much nicer version, the 'NO ADDED SUGAR' is printed just slightly up from the bottom and is just under a cm in height.
Hope this helps in finding the old version0 -
