Taking Card Payments without Swipe Machine

Hi,
OH has a small business and doesn't have a Credit Card swipe machine. He now has a client who owes him some money but wants to pay with a credit card. Potential for more business so OH doesn't want to appear awkward by insisting on cheque or cash.
Have read about several companies that other apps to allow you to take payments via your iphone/ipad, among them are izettle, mpowa, squareup and paymill.
Was wondering if anyone had used any of these and had any recommendations/warnings.
