Please help simplify my life
I need to replace the lead mains pipe coming in from the external stopvalve to my kitchen. I'm in South London so if anyone knows a good company that can do this please PM me. I can narrow down my search massively then
Thank You!
Oh and while I'm here, anyone had this done recently? Any idea how much the job should cost?

why does it need replacing?
I have done this and your local water company will advise. I think I had to dig three feet down and laid the pipe and they connected it for me, you also need to disconnect the lead pipe in some cases.
They will connect your new pipe for free, or at least they used to0 -
I'm replacing it because I'm redoing the spaghetti junction of pipework inside the house. The lead pipe currently comes in to my kitchen, up through the bathroom, into the attic, loops around and then comes back to supply the bathroom. Used to have a tank in the attic but whoever was there before me got rid of the tank and just looped the pipe.
I would also like to move the current inlet over to the right by 2 feet so I can have the new kitchen cupboards span the entire wall.
I've looked at using leadloc and a Plasson Universal adapter but I've heard some horror stories about them popping off under mains pressure. So I figure while the place still looks like a building site, I'd go the whole hog and replace the lead pipe from the mains.
I have the trench dug, had two plumbers come round, look into it, say no problem and heard no more. So I'm just fishing for recommendations to help me narrow my search
Thames Water are being none too helpful.
Thx

Sometimes grants are available for the removal of lead pipe, might be worth checking.0
