Spark Energy Rip Off

Hi,

Can anyone advise how can I get rid of my energy supplier Spark Energy, I've been trying to switch for 6 months now but they reject the application every time even though when I speak on the phone with them they say they will approve the switch. They have been bringing me sooo much stress, I really do not know what to do to get rid of them, they are lying everytime and today I received a £200 bill even though last time when I talked with them I made the final payment and closed the account. This is just ridiculous...

Would appreciate any advice
Thanks

If you read the reviews on reviewcentre you will see that this is a common tactic for them.
They are so overpriced and have such poor service that the only way they can get customers is to pay letting agents to ensnare tenants, and then refuse to let the tenants switch.
I am worried as I am in the same trap, please do post if you manage to switch.

That's what I thought I did, I gave them up to date reading, they calculated the spending , I paid the bill while over the phone with them and they said that they'll approve the request from EDF. Well...that never happen, I just dont understand how they can get away with this.....

Will do, just emailed the Estate Agents and made a complaint on their website...

OK, they shouldn't allow you to do that unless you are leaving the property. You remain a Deemed contract with Spark up to the switch date & reading. I suggest you resolve this...and its their error for even allowing it...or it could start collection activities for unknown occupied debt. If you let this slide, in a later complaint it could be construed as a way to avoid payment (we know it isn't, but you can bet Spark will use it against you)

In terms of the switch, the rules are strict. I've already challenged a Spark rep on another thread when they stated objection to switching rules differ by supplier...they don't as they are set by Ofgem in Standard Licence Condition (SLC) 14.

Here is the link to Ofgem's site, use the supplier .PDF's.

    http://www.ofgem.gov.uk/Licensing/Work/Pages/licence-conditions-consolidated.aspx

    Why did they object?

Hopefully you can build a complaint against them using this.

What reason do they give for rejecting the switch?
Don't phone them, don't email them. Send an official complaint (in writing by RD), and then the clock starts ticking down to the point where you can take it to the Ombudsman.
