all you people who are moaning now
where were you in April when this was announced?0 -
can you really claim this if you get child tax credits? i already do & may get working tax credits very soon too?!0
-
I work in a Post Office and the info we have received this week states that only those three benefits apply.
I too get Tax Credits but can't take advantage of the promotion.0 -
what i really dont understand why do people in work and the ones that are not able to work like incapacity benefit get it but not income support, frankly can not afford the horrendous cost of applications to send out on income support and could really do with that little bit of help.0

I hadn't even heard of Employment and Support Allowance before this offer came out. It seems that they have made the offer available to only the few people who are eligible.
If they made it available to recipients of income support or tax credit they would lose too much income.
Pretty useless offer to the average working family really.0 -
where does that leave you if you are on JSA? Is one benefit superior to another?? Poor show.0

I thought when it was announced in April they were saying those on income support and JSA would be eligible. So looks like they've changed the goal postsOur scheme for customers on low incomes
We will launch a Christmas scheme for people on low incomes to buy up to a total of 36 1st or 2nd Class Stamps in one purchase at 2011 prices – 46p for 1st Class and 36p for 2nd Class.
The scheme will launch on 6 November 2012 and will be in place until the last posting date before Christmas for 1st Class stamps.
People on pension credit and employment and support allowance (or incapacity benefit) are eligible for participation in the scheme.
Eligible customers will need to provide evidence that they are in receipt of benefits, (eg, the Annual Uprating letter or the Award Notice letter from the DWP). Stamps will be available for purchase from any of the 11,801 Post Office branches. Royal Mail will write to every UK household later in the year explaining the scheme and how it works.

The Royal Mail website says "Vouchers will be delivered to every residence between 8 and 18 October".
Putting aside, for a moment, the merits or otherwise of the qualifying benefits, has anybody actually had a voucher delivered to them? Are RM living up to their promise?0
