ESOP schemes

Does anyone have any experience of these? My H has been offered one through work and am just trying to see if he should be going for it.

The problem is, they have been provided very limited information regarding the scheme, what happens if you leave the company (it appears to have a 5 year period to qualify for the share purchases to be tax and NIC free), how you sell your shares, can you do part disposals etc.

Can you anyway give me any pointers / interesting web reading that can help me with my research?
