Hi Guys,
I've just bought flight to Canaries. Found something strange on Ryanair web:
When you are buing two flights together the price is for exmple: LTN - TFS 80 pounds and TFS - LTN 80 pounds.
But when you are buing it seperetly: Flight from Teneryfe is execly the same 80.. but in Euro. That's not finish. When you pay in Euro on the payment site Ryanair offer you own exchange rate, is small print but you can click (more) and than you will see how much they offer for exchenge. On my screen was 80E = 70 pounds. Simply - to avoid they exchange rate just untick the box. Finaly my account was charge 65 pounds instead 80! So it's 15 pounds save.

I might have misunderstood, didn't you say it was 80 euros (£70)? So would the saving not be £5?
Still, a saving is a savingWatch the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves (or so the saying goes).
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Unholyangel, I think the OP is saying that if you use Ryanair's own currency conversion, you will save £5 if you pay in sterling, but if you opt to pay in EUR the rate his / her credit card offered was £15 less than the original £80.

I do this all the time. if you are booking 5 or 6 flights, savings can be quite substantial
Draw back is, if they were to cancel or make a significant change to the outward flight, that is all you would be refunded. You could be stuck with a return flight you can't use.
If you booked a return, then you would get a full refund.0 -
When I was travelling back and forth from Spain on a regular basis, I used to use this trick all the time. In fact, what I did was book ALL my flights in Euros making a huge saving for the same deal if purchased from the UK site in Sterling.
The way I worked it was book a return flight from Alicante to UK and the return date was weeks or months on a future date I knew I was going to Spain (which was actually my departure from UK going out to Spain for a holiday)... My "return" from Spain was actually a new booking departing from Alicante to return in the future...
If you have a holiday home somewhere in Europe that you visit regularly, if you plan it properly you can save a fortune doing it this way.0 -
Many thanks pankotek , tried it and saved £21.37p :-)
my return leg flights from canaries were £48.99 x 3 one way.
After booking outbound. i then booked the return leg and got the price in euros same as pounds. I had to use the ryanair rate as i have a cashpassport.
Instead of paying £146.97 im paying £125.60
Love this as Ryanair often inflate one leg of the journey.
so using this and cashpassport ive saved over £57. :beer:0
