£3500 towards heating upgrade???

Hi, I had a chap knock at the door yesterday from a company claiming that I could be eligible for a heating upgrade of up to £3500 if my system was old enough or inefficient enough. I can find no info on this on the Internet, only the warm front scheme for people on benefits. As we are not on benefits I am very sceptical!
Can anyone advise me on this, as I made an excuse that my partner wasn't home, he said no problem because he would be in the area Wednesday 10th and will return then!

In conjunction with Green Deal (which you pay for) the government has also launched ECO (energy company obligation) which means people in certain locations or on certain benefits can get energy saving measures installed FOC. It may be that this is what is being offered as there can be a top-up required from the consumer depending on the measures/cost/income or area.
