So SSE have increased their prices from mid October. I Have not heard of any more in the pipeline. Has anyone else? Are they likely now SSE have increased their prices?

Not likely, but inevitable. No free lunch, and no free laptop

So nothing in the near future? They have to give 28 days notice now. And I thought someone may know even more in advance than that. Someone in the energy industry maybe?
I am at present changing from Atlantic SSE to nPower and didn't want to be surprised by a sudden increase with nPower just after switching!0 -
nPower will increase their prices this winter as surely as night follows day. The time gap between the earliest and latest in the cartel to raise/lower prices is never usually more than a few months.0

You would have done better to fix when there were still cheap fixes available then. I would expect all the remaining 5 to announce increases before the onset of winter. No free lunch, and no free laptop

So no actual knowledge of any price increases then? Just assumptions?
By the way Winter has started. Very .0 -
my guess is most will raise in jan0

For me in my area nPower are somewhat less expensive than Atlantic at present. So even if nPower do put their prices up I will not be worse off. If I were to stick with Atlantic I would be paying more now and and the others might not put their prices up, or not by as much. Bird in the hand being worth two in the bush .... ? Generally it's heads they win, tails we lose.

You may be right but January would be quite late to do so. It's cold already. It would allow us to go mad over Christmas though.

E.On promised no increase in 2012.
They don't need to increase prices, because they are already way down the list anyway.0 -
It's inevitable the other 'big 5' will announce increases in December/January.
E.On promised no increases in 2012 so I imagine as soon as 2013 comes they will hike them up.0
