if you register your details on line for a visit from your local fire brigade to do a fire risk assessment, they will fit smoke alarms free of charge. \i got two with batteries that last 10 years, they stick them to the ceiling.0

Generally cleaning the alarms will sort out the problem - vacuum if you can0

I rang the builder and he was great. The electrician came yesterday morning and has taken some of the melted bits away. He is going to speak to his wholesaler. Anyway, he is coming back early next week to change everything.

Hi
My smoke alarm went off at 4am recently, absolutely no reason for this, clean inside, no smoke about and no warmth at all, because cant afford to put heating on.
Anyway, you may find this interesting, maybe not.
The day before my daughter had been doing fire training at 4pm!!!!
Weird or what!!:eek:0 -
Electrician has been out and replaced all the lights in the extension. He apologised and clearly took it very seriously. He has used a different system this time.

Excellent - so it was the fittings then. Well done to the sparks for doing it FOC for you too. So much for the "just hoover out the smoke alarm" theory.DevilsAdvocate1 wrote: »Electrician has been out and replaced all the lights in the extension.
