Idiots' guide to iPhone 5?

Hi,

I've been needing a new mobile for months now, and since I've just had an unexpected windfall I've treated myself to the new iPhone 5 (should be delivered in the next few weeks), which I will be going SIM only with Giffgaff.

I'll be moving from my much-loved but ancient HTC Hero, which is now crashing all the time, low on memory and rather outdated.

Can anyone recommend an idiots' guide/magazine/website where I can gen up on the possibilities my new toy can offer?

Also I'd like to keep it as pristine as possible, and have seen that Otterbox cases get good writes up. Does anyone have any experience of the 'Defender' series - are they a bit overkill?

There is a manual from apple available in iBooks.

I should mention that I an not going to upgrade my iphone4 to the 5.
I am getting the Samsung Galaxy Note2. I just love the five and a half inch screen.
