Hi,
I'm a part time dinner lady I work 16 and quarter hours a week which I receive working tax credits, I have not been back to work this tee
Due to a bad back which I've been signed off by the doctor, I don't get paid sick from work so just wanted to know is there anything I should be claiming while I'm off sick, as I'm my whole wages down every month at the moment ?
I'm a single mum with two children, I just wondered if I could get any other help at all ?
Thanks

Your employer should have issued you with an SSP1 form so you can apply for ESA. Do you rent? you may qualify for housing Benefit and Council Tax benefit. You can still claim Working tax for the first 28 weeks of sickness.0

Depends on your average weekly earnings and the ages of your children:
If your average weekly earnings are not less than £107 a week you should be getting statutory sick pay from your employer. This is paid in the same way and on the same date as you usually get paid.

If your children are aged under 5 years you could get income support because you don't need to be available for work.
