Sorry to open a new post for this but this question here:

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=420600#post420600

Will be missed otherwise and I really could do with some help on this.

The question is:

If HSBC own HFC should one avoid opening a HFC account if you already have a HSBC account? Could you BT between them?

You could have a Marbles card (HFC) then apply for a First Direct Card (HSBC) but if HFC ultimatly ownes HFC could it be a problem?

Hope you understnd what I'm getting at.

The list in my other thread (linked above) is to try and help people from getting in these kinds of mess's so I need to be accurate with my "provided by" list.

Thanks Tony

  • HFC although having been owned now by HSBC, their computer systems are still independent so I do not see a problem in getting say a marbles and hsbc card or even m&s (which is also HSBC now but not yet integrated).

However, there will be some cutoff date when these systems become more integrated although not sure when this is.

    Hope this helps.

Thats interesting, it would be wise then is you have a HSBC card to make your next application for a card to HFC before its too late.

I just got a 9 month 0% intlligent Finance card so think my next one I need to get might be a HFC offering.

I still doubt they would allow a BT.
