missing cat...

My cat went missing last year just after fireworks night. We called, put leaflets through doors, engaged AnimalsearchUK and got them to make leaflets and flyers.
After 15 days we got a call from AnimalsearchUK someone had a cat in their garage. He had been 4 doors away locked in a double garage. Silly thing was they had had the doors open etc but I guess he must have been so freaked out by then.
My advice no matter how silly you feel please keep calling and speak to as many neighbours as you can. Tell then to check out buildings and also leave the doors open or let you have a look.
I hope you get your cat back it is by far the worst two weeks of my life.Moved to Denmark for FIRE by Aug 2025 “May your decisions reflect your hopes not your fears”

To add on to the other suggestions;
Ring vets up to at least a 20 mile radius- if someone has found your cat injured then if they don't live near you, they might not know of the nearest vets to you, and take him to their own vets further afield. Sometimes vets are not good at making sure that all their staff are aware of a missing cat, so follow up any phone calls with a flyer.
If you are in area with paperboys, ask them/offer reward if they can spot him. Tell local newsagents, in case one of their regulars mentions in conversation that they've found a cat.Ask postmen and local sorting office- we had a cat reunited with its owner thanks to a postie, but that tends to work best in rural areas (or anyware postie chats a lot on his round).
Get onto every local facebook site etc. Adverise in local paper, and sometimes local free papers will let you write a tiny article.
Ring rescues up to about a 50 mile radius- because so many shelters are full, someone may have to go quite far afield to find a rescue with space to have taken him in.
See if you can stick up a flyer in your local GP surgeries- people usually wait a long time in there for their appointment, and tend to scour for anything to read.

Fingers crossed for a quick return. Do you have a local town facebook wall? If so, put a post up on there with a photo, and ask them to-repost.
Also contact the local cats protection league/other shelters as someone may have handed him in"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510 -
