Cats Tail problem

My cat Daisy is around 3 years old, and stayed out last night, now today she is wagging her tail very quickly, and can't seem to get comfortable sitting down. we have examined her tail and there are no lumps or bumps, but where she had been sitting there is a tiny spot of blood. She isn't in pain so far, or else she would be at the vets. She is eating and sleeping alright.
Any ideas?

Sorry but I think it's a trip to the vet to get checked out - animals are very good at disguising pain and if she's uncomfortable sitting down (and esp if there was blood!), it needs checked out.
Fingers crossed she's OKGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

If there's any chance the blood is from her back end then you need to get her checked out for cystitis. If she stayed out last night there is a fair chance it is a cat bite. Keep checking that she still has full feeling in her tail, if there is something that you have missed, the end of the tail could die off, or infection spread to the base of her tail and leave her incontinent. Have you got a thermometer to check her temperature?
If there is still a problem tomorrow I'd go for a check up at the vet- over the years we have had many cats come in who have lost part of there tail through cat bites, and one who was incontinent. Once tails develop a problem it seems to be more awkward than lots of other parts of the body.
I'm sure if it is something, caught early enough it will be very easily treated by your vet.
The injury may well not be in her tail, but that's the only bit she can wag to show she's in pain.
Is it possible she's been hit by a car?DONT BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE. GET YOUR ANIMALS NEUTERED TO SAVE LIVES.0 -
Thanks for advice everyone, she seems a bit better, but I know that probably will end up at the vets. Will keep checking on her, she could have been hit by a car, but then again we don't know what happened to her, but I know our other cat, when he stays out, he is sure to come back with cuts and bites....
Afraid of the size of the bill from the vets though..but if she has to go, I will bring her.0 -
Check her claws for any scuff marks.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

We are not permitted to give veterinary advice, you don't know what pain or discomfort she is in - take her to the vets please. Decent pet insurance is very reasonable for a three year old in many parts of the country.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Vets please. Just a word of caution, when Dogz the cat went missing for 2 and a half days, he managed to get back home, I rang the vet immediately. because I could not work out what was wrong. Luckily she told me to get there asap. X rays revealed really nasty spiral fracture in his only back leg, he had to referrred to Downs in Bristol, and once there they also found that he had a collapsed lung. In this case the bill was very big, but that was due to him having the fracture on an already pinned back leg( that was his only back leg). This and a collased lung when I couldn't work out what on earth was wrong. That's why I needed the vet!
ps Downs very expensive but I hope I get such a high standard of treatment if I ever go to hospital.DONT BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE. GET YOUR ANIMALS NEUTERED TO SAVE LIVES.0 -
Hi, I would check her tail base and surrounding area for any puncture wounds, she may have been bitten by another cat. Its very common for cats to get abscesses through cat bites in that area, hopefully she hasnt been, just be aware, any probs give your vet a ring, hope this is of some help.0
