Best low limit credit card

Hi all,
I am trying to get an idea of what the best type of credit card would be for me. I want a credit card that has a low credit limit that I can keep just for emergencies, such as unexpected car repairs.
I haven't had the best history with money. I've struggled with overdrafts in the past and one ill fated credit card wheni was a student. Recently I have turned my attitude to money round, but I'm still paying a payment plan for debts past.
I think I need to have the security of a credit card, but likewise dont want to be tempted.
