I couldnt find the digital tv thread so had to post here

Can anyone tell me why this is happening? I cancelled my subscription on 23rd March and I'm supposed to have the freeview channels only on now does this make a difference? I don't even know what my pin number was should they give it to me even though I'm not subscribing at the moment?

Also I though E4 was supposed to be part of the freeview package? Its saying on virgin medias site that they include E4 in thier free tv freeview type shouldnt sky be doing aswell?

Also I took the plug off that fitted into the telephone line because my grandson ran up a huge phonebill on games so would putting in the pin number even if I knew it work without that connected?
Thanx

E4 is not available on Sky Freesat but it is on Digital Terrestrial / Freeview. Same applies to More 4 .

Thanx yeah thats rather rubbish that they dont include E4 because Virgin Media do.

The pin number came off at 11pm on channel 4 yet there was no problem with it on virgin media freeview that I have upstairs, no pin number needed on that

Is your pin number for SKY not your last four digits from your viewing card as long as you've not changed it?

Not too sure but I think it is...

Thanx I tried the 1234 that sometimes the installers set it on as I've never changed it but that didnt work I'll try the last 4 digits then too but how can I do that without the pin number needing to be put in for something?

Does it matter that the telephone plug socket connection isnt on that connects sky to the phoneline?
    Thanx

We're on the full Sky package, but still need to enter our pin number sometimes if the programme we want to watch is covered by the 'parental authority' safety guard. Ours is the last four numbers on the card

Sky don't really want freesats so thats why they encrypt more stuff. So if you want e4/more 4 get a freeview box.

Is your sky card working ? You still need it to unencrypted some channels eg c4.

I don't understand why you need a pin - but from memory at one time the default is the last 4 digits of the sky card

The removal of the phone link is fine

Thanx the card must still be working coz I can get itv3 etc and 5life and the rest I just noticed I cant get the more4 and E4.

I do have cabling from virgin downstairs aswell still and really I dont like the way that sky have handled all this lately and its just another thing to put me off them so if ever I go back on I could just have virgin cable instead. How can I test my pin with the last 4 digits?
    Thanx

  • Hi

I have had problems with Sky movies all this week with the restructure of the channels. I was on SKY family package which included movies 1,3,5,7,9 but since last Tuesday it changed and left me with family, oldies, comedy and something else. I phoned up numerous times and was told that tough thats the way it is now.

After many phone calls I find out that they have a 2 month offer of upgrading to all the movies plus 6 channels for £32, what I was paying any way and £37 after 2 months.

Nearly all the films had a pin number, I rang Sky up on 08702404040 and was able to choose my own pin number to see the films.
