Seller sent me wrong item, charging me for return?
nobile
Hi, bought a laptop battery - however the seller has sent me the wrong item (its for a different model) - which they have now accepted.
They want me to return it for a refund or replacement, but I am being expected to pay for the return - I dont see why I should pay the p&p of such a heavy item when it was their fault.
I dont want a refund as I bought it using the £5 off voucher code 2 weeks ago, so will feel as though I lost out on that deal!
Any suggestions? Ta

How much are we talking about?
If it is not a great deal of money then I might be tempted to keep the item and resell it and neg the seller with something very well written to make sure it puts other buyers off- and leave 1 * for communication and item description at the very least. Then I would think there would be a very good chance seller will suddenly happily pay your return postage and ship out a new unit on the basis you will agree to remove the feedback when you have the correct item.
One warning though, do not under any circumstances threaten the seller with feedback, email again and say tracked postage for return will be X and that frankly if they are refsuing to pay that you do not feel it worth your while to return the unit and will try and sell it on to get some part of your money back.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It cost £13 (so I paid £8 for it). I doubt I could sell it on as its for an obscure 3 year old laptop model. I will contact them re: them reinbursing me p&p0 -
Resolved - seller has said p&p will be reinmbursed0

Soo - there are times on this board where I regret there is no devil smiley like there is on the eBay boards."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4
