Shower extractor - condensation/water collecting in flexible ducting

Moved to a property which has extractors above each shower. They have separate fans and flexible pipes. The pipes exit on the roof with a vertical distance of not more than 2 ft with about a 1 ft of pipe to fan outlet. Fan inlet to shower vent is about 1 ft of flexi pipe.
Last year noticed water collecting inside pipe bend, so drained and then attempted to insulate flexible pipe by wrapping bubble wrap around it.
I checked today and both pipes filled with water.
Cant see any blockages/restrictions, so thinking my DIY insulation is useless.
Thinking that best way is to fit rigid pipe with condensate trap and then allow condensation to drip outside via eaves using small bore pipe.
Is it best to give up on using flexible ducting?

Vertical pipes should have a condensate trap fitted, as it's inevitable that condensation will occur.
Even with insulation, the pipe will still get cold, as the end of it is open to the outside air.
Rigid pipes are better as the insides are smooth, which won't collect water or dirt.0 -
tlh858 - think you mean horizontal pipes!
Always best to angle extract ducting to go towards exit so water flows out that way. If a long run ensure you use ducting (poss soil pipework) that is glued otherwise you have to set up the condensate trap to drain somewhere else! All together now, "Always look on the bright side of life..." :whistle:0
