I have just gone through to book and it gives the option to purchase checked in luggage so do we get hand luggage as standard then?

Hand luggage allowance is 7 kgs from what I remember.

    I've been Money Tipped!
"All guests (except infants) are allowed only one (1) piece of hand carry luggage on board provided that it does not exceed the dimensions of 56cm X 36cm X 23cm and does not weigh more than 7kg" is what it says.

However, when I read around this for our flights in the summer, the impression I got was that it is only Airasia in Malaysia that actually stick to these guidelines.

Our experience from 5 AirAsia flights August 2012 in Cambodia, Thailand and Hong Kong is that they dont charge extra as long as you aren't taking the michael.

Our handluggage was within the dimensions, but weighed around 13kg per piece. Hong Kong, Phuket and Bangkok staff all put the hand luggage on the scales in order to put tags on them, saw it was 12 or 13kg, smiled at us and wished us a pleasant flight.

Thank you! we've booked the internal flights and paid for checked in luggage. Just hotels in Krabi and Bangkok left to book but need to find some good deals as we have probably overspent slightly on the hotel in Hua Hin

We are going down to Hua Hin from Bangkok on the train. About £8 each - takes approx 4 hours and leaves at 1pm or 14.45. There are early morning ones but these are at civilised times.
Tickets bookable on line - info seat61.com web site.
