How To Start Injury Comp Case????

Hi I don't know if this question is in proper forum let me know if it isn't. The thing is last Friday I fell from my 4 inch wedge shoes that I bought the day before. I bought these from a well known highstreet shop and have contacted their customer services and replied to them with ref number of shoes brief account of what happened and how I am complaining that it was the design of the shoes that have caused my fall. I had an operation on Saturday and have broken my ankle, fibula bone and a bone in the back of my knee and have eight screws and a steel plate put in my ankle. I'm in a cast confined to my house now as theres stairs here I can't get down also I'm to go back to hospital in nine weeks to have one of the screws removed in another op. I was wondering if any one knows if it is just a local lawyer I should go to see about this or a special lawyer who handles these sort of cases? Also I feel I am entitled to something because this has been a terrible experiance and the shoes are dangerous, the customer service worker I spoke to replied to say she has sent my info to the quality assurance department who apparently is overseas and she dosn't know when they will get back to her but when they do she will let me know. If anyone has any advice for me please let me know, thanks. P.S I will probably suffer atheritis in future because of this accident, I know I I'm going on but it's sore:(

From what you say, the shoes did not break. Presumably with all these types of shoes (high heels etc) some sort of balancing technique is required so from your description, I would think it boils down to user error. Clearly the shoes in question are designed more for fashion than comfort and practicability.

To successfully sue, you would have to claim that the goods were not fit for purpose and I can’t see how you would be successful in this.

    Frankly, I don't think you’ve got a leg to stand on :p
