Using a PPI company when all else fails?

Hi,

Please Help!!! I took out a store card in 1998 with House of Fraser, PPI was automatically added on.

I contacted Santander earlier this year to try and reclaim PPI with valid reasons. Santander responsed by saying that they would not uphold my complaint! I then wrote the the ombudsman who replied that at the time I took out the store card the credit provider was not regulated by the FSA so they cannot carry on my complaint.

Is it worth contacting a PPI claims company for them to try and get a refund on my behalf, has anyone heard of anything similiar with success stories or will I just be wasting my time. Your advice is much appreciated!!!!
Also does anyone know of any good PPI claim companies??

You dont get two bites at the cherry I'm afraid, if you have claimed and been rejected, they will tell the claims company exactly that.

End of the road for you. Sorry

You either use a Claims Company or you don't-they aren't there as a "standby".
A CMC does not increase your chances of success in any way. They merely offer to represent you in your complaint, which basically means they send the questionnaire to the bank on your behalf and then charge a large proportion of any redress for their "services"

Regardless, as McKneff already pointed out, you cannot complain twice.

    That wont change anything.

Your case is pre-regulation. Game over.

In other words, they stick a stamp on an envelope and put it in the post box. If you can't do that yourself, it might be a useful service - except that you have to sign the FOS questionnaire, put it in an envelope and send it to them before they can send it to the lender.
