Bathroom basin

I want a new bathroom basin and im after a glass one like this http://www.plumbworld.co.uk/1624-16260

But does the waste travel through a pipe in wall? as on my bathroom sink the waste travels through a white plastic tube going down near the toilet ...does this mean i wouldnt be able to buy this.

Sorry i dont have a clue about this type of thing.

Im also thinking of buying a new toilet as the old one as a nasty plastic top base and this one seems a good price but does anyone know if it is or not and if u can fit any toilet to where your previous one is?

http://www.plumbworld.co.uk/1630-16273

Im going to get a plumber to fit the Sink and toilet as im no good at DIY , any clue to how much a toliet and small glass sink will cost to fit?

Thanks

    Hi,

This is a wall-mounted unit so the microbore pipes for the incoming water and the pipe for the outgoing waste will need to be plumbed into the wall itself. (What you don't see in this picture is the two incoming water pipes that need to feed the taps, so it will not look quite as neat as this). It will not necessarily be a simple job for the plumber as it sounds as if you have a standard sink fitting. Can you see where your incoming hot and cold water pipes come from?

As for the toilet, so long as you get one with the same waste arrangement (that is straight out the back, or down through the floor), you should be OK. The fitting of the cistern will depend on the style, it will either sit directly on the toilet base or suspend from the wall. You may find that pipes will have to be adjusted (apart from the main waste outlet for the toilet) so a plumber is fairly necessary. He shouldn't charge too much for just changing the toilet but the wall mounted sink could get expensive. You can get a similar looking unit that fits to a simple vanity so your pipes will be hidden and you won't have to worry about channeling out your walls.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for the advice , very helpful

Seems as though i may have to give the glass sink a miss then :(

Have not moved in yet but the water pipes run along the wall....would all this need to be drilled in the wall then ....i guess that would work out to expensive for a plumber to do :(

Student so on limited funds.....its just a basic stand ceramic sink in at the moment .... its quite tiny and not my taste hence i wanted it gone.

What sort of sink could i go for what wouldnt cost to much to fit please?

Ill deffo buy the toilet as its in a state and i deffo need a new one.

Going to give a bath a miss though as it would work out to much plus i would probably pick the wrong size and it end up being to big for my bathroom or something lol

    Thanks once again :)

I would definately recommend getting flexi connecotrs to join the taps / cistern to the existing water pipes. I've been doing our bathroom this weekend and flexiconnecotrs have saved me a ton of time and hassle.

Also, you can get flexi connecotrs with push fit connectors on the pipe end so no plumbing skills required!
