Barclaycard payment break plan

Hi, I'm hoping somebody could offer some advice. i am currently in dispute with barclaycard over PBP (payment break plan) which is PPI in all but name. I first contacted them in July 12 and immediatley they stopped the PBP premiums when i lodged my complaint that it had been mis-sold. i have finaly had a response after weeks of phone calls saying they were offering me £2100, of which £1200 was premiums paid plus interest. they said in a letter that they could not offer me 8% interest and they was no offer of a goodwill gesture for the distress caused or the charges incurred. i have always made the required payments f this card but informed them that i did not accept this offer. i have never defaulted on this card and i have just received my last statement and the amount of £2100n has been deducted from the balance of my card. this money paid for the PBP was not borrowed from the card this is money that i was expecting to be directly paid to me. can my CC company do this.
any information would be appreciated.

thanking you in anticipation.
M

Any money they give you in redress can be taken off any outstanding balance on any account you have with them, be that overdraft, credit card, mortgage, whatever.

Only if there are arrears or the finance is in default, of course.

can they argue if you owe money on a credit card, despite monthly payment, the account is still in arrears?
Or is it only if it's in arrears and in default?

In arrears or default or a "settled" account where amounts were written off as part of a debt management plan or IVA.

I also believe they credit the win to the card and then send a cheque out, this is what they have to to to reset the card to zero balance to work out the redress, the op needs to contact them and ask if this is what they do.
If there are no arrears or defaults of course ;)

was no offer of a goodwill gesture for the distress caused or the charges incurred.
You should put a separate claim in for the charges if you want them refunding. You do not get a goodwill gesture if they are paying you the PPI back, the 8% award is supposed to be compensation for the mis sell, ask FOS about this.

Why were you not accepting the offer they made?.

There is little to no chance of that if they are only making a goodwill offer, of course. I have also never heard of anyone getting separate compensation for "distress".

Seems apparent that the poster wants the money paid to him rather than to his card.
