Beware "Good Boy" Giant Ball Tugger Dog Toy!!
Rotti
We adopted an elderly (small for the breed) Rotti from the local dog's home last week and went to the pet shop today to get her a tug toy as she loves to play tug-of-war. We spent £6.50 on a Good Boy Giant Ball Tugger, thinking a good brand would last. The size of the ball indicates it is for a large dog and it says on the label that it is "strong but not indestructible". To our complete horror it lasted less than a minute! She hadn't even got a proper pull going when the rope pulled out of both sides of the over-sized tennis ball and was two cut ends joined in the middle with a short length of insulation tape! Had I or my husband been engaged in a full-on tug of war when it went we could have gone very heavily backwards and done ourselves some damage. I didn't think it fair to take back to a small retailer for a refund as it is not their fault but a very bad manufacturing fault, so contacted Armitages, sent them photos and they are looking into it. I just want to warn any other dog owners out there to look out for these toys as they are potentially dangerous for both dog and owner - had we not got it off her quickly she could have ingested the insulation tape. Plus we now have a sulky dog who has had her new toy taken away!

Get thee to a Poundland if you have one nearby - their rope tuggies have survived my Rottie x and GSD (had them near on 2 years now)!0
