How is everyone? Had a call from the agency that organised the interview last week (2nd one this Thursday), suddenly the start date has changed to immediate (from start of April and I was thinking that's a long time till I get paid i.e. end of April) but the salary has gone down a few thousand. They also were trying to get it out of me as to how my other interviews went (through competing agencies). The more I think about this job although its permie, to get there for 8:30 in the traffic I would need to leave at 7am at the very latest. Getting home would be the same so that's 3 hours out of my day before I even count work and petrol will cost me £2500 a year to get there!!!!!!
I've been told that I have the temp job that I went for today assuming that the funding comes through but it won't start for a few weeks! So I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Hello All, how is everyone? OH got rushed from his work to hospital last night by ambulance after taking ill. It wasn't our local hospital so I had to find it whilst trying to stay calm. He's ok now (but still in a lot of pain) but basically he's been told he can't return to work as his work won't do light duties for anyone. So he's out of a job, again. I've put off my interview tomorrow till next week (tues), I explained what happened. They were ok about it. OH is home now but resting and I've been trying to get him to eat something light to build up his strength.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Thanks KW, OH feels like he's let me down as he's now out of work. He's still sleeping, they gave him really strong painkillers.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Thanks Lucielle.
OH is a bit better today, he got a snotty letter from HR basically saying why hasn't he sent in a resignation letter. He called them and explained he only got out of hospital in the early hours of yesterday morning! They sent their letter yesterday so even if he had posted a letter yesterday they would only have gotten it today!
Grabbed some good bargains, our local convenience store (run by a lovely family) is a Day-Today franchise store. They had 12 Nicky Kitchen Rolls for £1.99 and 18 Nicky Toilet Rolls for £2.99. Stuff like this never goes off. If you have a Day-Today store near you have a look, its certainly cheaper than HB or B&M for their toilet roll or kitchen roll.
Daytime TV is pretty dire so I have Christmas Carol (animation) on in the background. Strange time of the year to watch it I know but I find it uplifting.
Food wastage certainly has gone down for us in the last few weeks. OH is now realising just how much food (and other things) cost. I bought some rolls whilst out, so we had those with various fillings (using up) for lunch. Tea tonight will be sausage, bacon, egg, mushrooms, tomato and toast. For tomorrow I have mince I fancy making lasagne but I know OH will want Bolognese!
OH has docs on Monday for a check (his ecg was clear thankfully) but I think I'll combine that with a trip to see my Gran and take some items to the clothes recycling place as well so its all done in the one day.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Hello!! Made it across!!
Glad OH is feeling a bit better.
 to HR. Then when you do want/need them involved you can never find them!
Made my first ever lasagne a couple of weeks ago. Turned out really well! So have already a couple more red sauce jars stocked up for the next batch! We're having spuds with mince/peas/gravy tonightTraditional but oh-so yummy!!
You tried using the quorn mince for bolognaise etc yet?Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
I might try Quorn soon HAW, but just not tell OH and SS that's what I've used!CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. That's exactly what we did! Girls were none the wiser. And even I actually can't tell the difference if it's in bolognaise or the likes. Only time we 'have' to use real mince is when we're having it with spuds and gravy - like last nights dinner!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0

Quorn is excellent in a Chilli and the "meat"balls are rather good tooMust use my stash up!0
